Aphids, whiteflies, planthoppers, and similar pests seriously damage a wide range of crops. Pymetrozine and Dinotefuran are two insecticides with completely different modes of action. Pymetrozine in the formulation is a pyridine insecticide. Once piercing-sucking pests such as aphids, whiteflies, and planthoppers come into contact with Pymetrozine, they immediately experience stylet blockage, stop feeding at once, and show about a 90% reduction in feeding activity within 3 hours. Mortality can approach 100% within 48 hours. Therefore, Pymetrozine has excellent ability to block pest virus transmission.
Dinotefuran in the formulation is a third-generation neonicotinoid insecticide. It acts on the pest nervous system, causing abnormal excitation that eventually leads to paralysis and death. Compared with second-generation neonicotinoids, it provides a broader insecticidal spectrum, higher activity, faster action, and longer residual control.
The combination of Pymetrozine and Dinotefuran produces a highly significant synergistic effect, compensating for the shortcomings of each individual ingredient. The formulation offers contact activity, stomach toxicity, and excellent systemic translocation activity. With multiple modes of action including strong systemic movement and translaminar activity, it expands the insecticidal spectrum and improves rapid efficacy, perfectly combining quick knockdown with long residual performance.
The first peak of pest mortality occurs 10–15 hours after application, while the second complete mortality peak appears 3–4 days later. The residual effect can last up to 40 days, making it a preferred solution for controlling resistant piercing-sucking pests.
The combination of Pymetrozine and Dinotefuran also provides both contact and stomach action, with extremely strong systemic translocation, rapid effectiveness, and long residual activity. This formulation demonstrates outstanding control efficacy against piercing-sucking pests such as aphids, whiteflies, rice planthoppers, thrips, and leafhoppers.
Its multiple advantages - including dual systemic activity, comprehensive insecticidal action, high translocation capability, and strong systemic absorption - enable it to penetrate across leaf layers and effectively control resistant pests without blind spots. This not only broadens the insecticidal spectrum, but also improves quick-acting performance, delays resistance development, and extends the residual control period. In addition, the formulation is highly flexible in application methods, as it can be used for foliar spraying, root drenching, and even seed treatment.
During the peak egg hatching stage or peak occurrence of young nymphs, apply 120–165 g/ha of 70% Pymetrozine + Dinotefuran water-dispersible granules (WDG), diluted with 450 L of water, and spray evenly. Special attention should be paid to spraying the lower parts of the rice plants. Maintaining a shallow water layer in the field can further improve the control effect against rice planthoppers.
For cucumbers, tomatoes, and other vegetables, apply 150–270 g/ha of 60% Pymetrozine + Dinotefuran WDG during the early stage of infestation, diluted with 450 L of water and sprayed evenly. Pests can be killed on the same day, and the residual effect can last for more than 28 days.
